The existence of periodic solutions for autonomous ordinary differential equations is proved, in the lack of uniqueness, by means of the apparatus of weighted maps. The systems of differential equations are considered in Euclidean spaces as well as on manifolds. As a special consequence, a variant of the Poincaré-Bendixson theorem is obtained.
