With the aim to show that the three wave method combined with the special transformation of the unknown function and the bilinear method for the \((2+1)\)-dimensional Boussinesq equation \[ u_{tt}-u_{xx}-u_{yy}-(u^2)_{xx}-u_{xxxx}=0 \] the authors have obtained new explicit two solution, periodic solitary wave solution and doubly periodic soliton solution.
