In the present paper the authors prove the existence of a pseudotoric structure on an arbitrary smooth compact toric symplectic manifold using the techniques of algebraic geometry. As an important consequence, a method for constructing Chekanov-type nonstandard Lagrangian tori on arbitrary toric manifolds is proposed.
