The paper, very well presented, gives new restrictions on the symplectic embeddings of basic shapes in symplectic vector spaces. The authors show that they are sharp by refining an embedding technique due to \textit{L. Guth} [Invent. Math. 172, No. 3, 477--489 (2008; Zbl 1153.53060)].
