The open problem about the existence of an example of a non-Sasakian strongly locally \(\varphi\)-symmetric space apart from the contact metric \((\kappa,\mu)\)-spaces is considered. At present, the answer is known to be negative for three-dimensional contact metric spaces, left-invariant contact metric structures on Lie groups, strongly pseudoconvex integrable CR-manifolds, etc. The following result is a step to resolve this problem. Theorem. If the set of all D-homothetic transforms of a given contact metric space contains at least two locally \(\varphi\)-symmetric spaces, then the given space is a \((\kappa,\mu)\)-space and every space in this set is locally \(\varphi\)-symmetric.
