The author deals with the problem that describes the flow of a thermally and electrically conducting viscous fluid in \(\Omega\) (\(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^3\) is a bounded domain) in the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) approximation. The exploration of the possibility of intensifying or supressing convection by optimization methods leads to control problems for MHD models that seek the most efficient mechanisms for controlling thermal and hydrodynamic processes in a viscous heat-conducting fluid exposed to magnetic field. Some of these problems are stated and analyzed in the paper.
