A strong convergence result for an approximate fixed point sequence for a finite family of asymptotically pseudocontractive mappings is proved. The main result of this work represents a slight extension of a result given by \textit{C.\,E.\thinspace Chidume} and \textit{H.\,Zegeye} [J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 278, No.\,2, 354--366 (2003; Zbl 1037.47043)].
