The paper under review deals with finite groups and analyzes the influence of nc-supplemen\-ta\-tion on the structure of a group. This concept arises as an extension of the known c-supplemen\-ta\-tion introduced by Guo, Wang and the reviewer. A subgroup \(H\) is said to be nc-supplemented in a group \(G\) if there is a subgroup \(K\leq G\) such that \(HK\trianglelefteq G\) and \(H\cap K\) is contained in \(H_G\), the core of \(H\) in \(G\). After analyzing some elementary properties of this subgroup embedding property, the authors prove nice results about the solvability of groups \(G\) with some subgroups of Sylow subgroups nc-supplemented in \(G\). Remarks: The concept of c-supplemented subgroup was first introduced and studied in the paper of \textit{X. Guo, Y. Wang} and the reviewer [Glasg. Math. J. 42, No. 3, 383-389 (2000; Zbl 0968.20009)]. This study is continued in the paper of \textit{Y. Wang} [J. Algebra 224, No. 2, 467-478 (2000; Zbl 0953.20010)].
