The authors continue their statistical mechanical study of voltammogram spikes. They present a theory from which voltammogram spikes corresponding to first-order phase transitions can be obtained. Moreover the theory can be applied to experiment and show that macroscopic properties of a voltammogram spike determine the strength of microscopic interactions in a lattice gas that one may use to model the associated deposition process.
