The paper under review includes an investigation on the relationship between the Regge symmetry property of the Racah-Wigner \(6j\)-symbols and the Okamoto symmetry of the Painlevé~VI differential equation. In particular the first of the aforementioned symmetry properties is derived in a fashion which can be viewed as the representation theoretic version of the way the second of these symmetry properties was exhibited in the author's recent papers.
