In this paper, a standard linear stability model has been used to make a numerical study on the effect of a magnetic field on the formation of longitudinal vortices of natural convection over a rotating heated flat plate. The results contained in the present paper show agreement with experimental data in the case of thermal instability in natural convection flow over a flat plate heated from below.
