The problem of classifying Killing two-tensors in the Euclidean plane is treated with two tools; firstly, by making use of the moving frame map and elementary theory associated with foliations and secondly, through the Hamilton-Jacobi theory of orthogonal separation of variables. The solution of above problem supports the main conclusion of paper that the underlying ideas of the Hamilton-Jacobi theory of orthogonal separation of variables can be naturally described in the language of geometric theory of group actions.
