The method of structure matching is a simplification and generalization of the Van Dyke method of construction of the uniformly valid asymptotic solutions for equations with a small parameter. In the present paper, the authors use the method of structure matching to construct a uniform asymptotics of the solution to a Lighthill equation with a regular singular point for the case when the corresponding unperturbed equation has a pole of arbitrary natural order at the origin.
