This paper deals with nonlinear elliptic eigenvalue problems \(\Delta u+\lambda f(u)= 0\) in \(\Omega\), \(u= 0\) on \(\partial\Omega\). The author presents the variational technique for solving these problems and approximates the solution by a polynomial of degree \(n\) in terms of \(x\). Also a modified form of the Broyden update method is presented. Three numerical examples are studied.
