The authors consider the \(C^\infty\) Cauchy problem for a strictly hyperbolic system of Leray-Volevich type. Using matrix-valued Fourier integral operators, they construct a parametrix for the Cauchy problem, which hence allows them to obtain an explicit expression of the solution.
