The author obtains some more properties of the hereditarily \(l_p\) spaces \(X_{\alpha, p}\) introduced by \textit{J.\,Hagler} and himself in [Pac.\ J.\ Math.\ 122, 287--297 (1986; Zbl 0609.46012)]. Among other results, it is shown that the predual of any member of the class \(X_{\alpha, 1}\) contains asymptotically isometric copies of \(c_0\).
