For the difference equations \(x_{n+1}=(x_n+x_{n-1}x_{n-2}+ a)/(x_nx_{n-1}+x_{n-2}+a)\) and \(x_{n+1}=(x_nx_{n-1}+x_{n-2}+ a)/(x_{n-1}+x_nx_{n-2}+a)\) with \(a\geq0\) the oscillatory properties of positive solutions and the global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium 1 are studied.
