In this lecture, one is concerned with some generalizations of the Riemann-Stieltjes integral such as the so-called Pollard type and gauge integrals. The author discusses the history of the proof of an integration by parts formula for those integrals and presents new results on integration by parts when Banach space-valued functions are involved.
