Research of nonlinear vibrations of orthotropic plates of a complex form (Q2500866)

Summary: This paper deals with large-amplitude free and forced flexural vibrations of elastic orthotropic plates of arbitrary shape. \(R\)-function method is applied to obtain the basis functions for expansion of sought solution in Fourier series. The initial nonlinear system of partial differential equations is reduced by Galerkin procedure to a system of ordinary nonlinear differential equations. The solution of the obtained system is carried out by Runge-Kutta or Galerkin method. The numerical results for the plate of rectangular form for different boundary conditions have been presented and compared with other known results.
