The authors obtain asymptotic estimates of the heat kernel for the quaternionic Heisenberg group in various cases. These are used in proving asymptotic estimates for certain harmonic functions on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. Furthermore, a Martin compactification is constructed for the quaternionic Heisenberg group and it is proved that the Martin boundary of that group is homeomorphic to the unit ball in the quaternionic field.
