The author considers the Hamiltonian of the FK model [\textit{L. M. Falicov} and \textit{J. C. Kimball}, Phys. Rev. Lett. 22, 997--999 (1969)]. He derives the effective Hamiltonians up to fourth order perturbation theory. Then he determines ground states and a phase diagram of the effective Hamiltonians in subsequent orders.
