The author extends earlier joint work treating the case of \(q=5\) [Beitr. Algebra Geom. 45, No. 1, 75--85 (2004; Zbl 1059.11035)] to discuss the principal congruence subgroups of the Hecke triangle Fuchsian groups (of the second kind) of the title in the case of prime \(q>5\). The techniques are a refinement of those of the earlier paper.
