Strong solutions to compressible barotropic viscoelastic flow with vacuum (Q2516831)

The authors construct strong solutions of the initial-boundary value problem for the evolution of a compressible viscoelastic fluid of Oldroyd-A type. Since the problem has mixed hyperbolic-parabolic character, the construction of solutions is delicate, and a compatibility condition imposed on the initial data is needed. Nevertheless, the authors succeeded to do this even if the initial density need not be positive and may vanish in an open set.
