The paper deals with ``weakly singular'' spacetimes and the geometric theory of ``generalised functions''. The authors prove a theorem on the local uniqueness for the solutions of the wave equation in a weakly singular spacetime. The proof is achieved in several technical steps which can be interpreted physically.
