By constructing the limit equations and limit functionals, the paper presents a generalization of the Lyapunov functional method and uses it to study the stability and the asymptotic stability of nonautonomous functional-differential equations of neutral type with finite delay. It is assumed that the nonlinear functions are bounded and satisfy a Lipschitz condition.
