The first part of this article contains a short introduction and survey of time scales calculus. Then the author presents three theorems that mimic Lyapunov's direct method for the time scales setting. The proofs are compact. In a final remark the results are applied to an example of an impulsive dynamical system, thus showing the motivation for the article.
