In this note the author conjectures that the number of polynomials of the form \(x^n+x+d\) with \(1\leq d\leq p-1\), which are irreducible mod \(p\), is asymptotic to \(p/n\) (as \(p\to\infty\) and \(n\) remains fixed) and proves it in case \(n = 3\).
