\textit{J. Donnelly} [Notre Dame J. Formal Logic 12, 125--128 (1971; Zbl 0185.00808)] claims to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the distinction of \textit{P. T. Geach} [``Good and Evil'', Analysis 17, 33--42 (1956; \url{doi:10.1093/analys/17.2.33})] between ``logically predicative'' and ``logically attributive'' adjectives. It is here argued that Donnelly's criticisms rest on a misunderstanding of the grounds for the admissibility of a rule of inference.
