The authors consider a PDE system for frictional adhesion between a viscoelastic body, subject to thermal fluctuations in contact with a rigid support. Bulk and surface processes are coupled in the model. Equations are nonlinear conservation laws in a finite 3D domain. The existence of a global solution is proved by a approximation procedure.
