Several generalizations of a theorem of \textit{J. Marcinkiewicz} and \textit{A. Zygmund} [Stud. Math. 7, 104-120 (1938; Zbl 0018.07504)] are obtained. These theorems relate the existence conditions for the absolute moments of the limit superior of the mean of identically distributed random variables and the absolute moments of the random variables.
