Higher-order exponential difference schemes for the computations of the steady convection-diffusion equation (Q2564466)

This paper studies a conventional exponential difference scheme for the one-dimensional, source-free convection-diffusion equation and generalises it to multidimensional problems and, more significantly to problems with a variable source term. For example the type of problem considered with a source term is \[ R(d\Phi/dx) =(d^2 \Phi/dx^2) +S_0+ S_1x +S_2x^2. \] This equation is used to test the procedures developed and multidimensional examples are also given.
