The paper presents the numerical simulation of compressible flow fields near the trains passing each other inside a tunnel. The domain decomposition approach is used together with a modified approximate factorization algorithm. The main feature of the numerical method which uses both Euler and Navier-Stokes equations is the introducing of a source term to simplify the procedure. In this method, the solutions to the subset equations are used as forcing terms added to the basic algorithm in appropriate flow regions (fortified solution algorithm). The results of calculation and their discussion are presented for the case of trains moving at the same speed in opposite directions at Mach number 0.22.
