A method for static output feedback design for arbitrary pole assignment and partial eigenvector assignment of linear multivariable control systems is presented. The method allows one to specify eigenvectors so that not only arbitrary given poles, but also poles at a desirable area can be assigned. The dual version of the basic method may be used in the way that inputs-outputs and left-right eigenvectors are switched. This version is needed when all assigned poles are complex conjugates and the number of system outputs is odd. Two numerical examples are given.
