Lecture I (Leben Ramanujans) ist Abdruck von [Am. Math. Mon. 44, 137--154 (1937; JFM 63.0019.02)]. Die übrigen 11 Vorlesungen sind unter Bezugnahme auf neuere Untersuchungen verschiedener Forscher aus einer zweiten 1936 gehaltenen Vorlesung (mathematische Werke) entstanden. Sie behandeln den Primzahlsatz, die \(\zeta\)-Funktion, Gitterpunktsfragen, diophantische Gleichungen, hypergeometrische Identitäten, \(p(n)\), elliptische und Modulfunktionen, Integralidentitäten.
