Let \(G\) be a finite group and \(\tau(G)\) the set of prime factors of the indices of maximal subgroups of \(G\). Using the set \(\tau(G)\) three theorems on the solvability of \(G\) are proved. The classification theorem of finite simple groups is used indirectly in this paper.
