The authors study the Kähler-Einstein metric for the Cartan-Hartogs domains of second type introduced by \textit{W. P. Yin} [Chin. Sci. Bull. 44, No. 21, 1947--1951 (1999; Zbl 1039.32502)], estimating its holomorphic sectional curvature and giving an explicit formula in some particular cases.
