The authors deduce a PDE describing the evolution from healthy tissue to a mature plaque. The model describes the fluid-structure interaction between the blood flow by the Navier-Stokes equations and elasticity equations for solid. The final coupling system of PDE consists of the Navier-Stokes type equations and the reaction-diffusion equations. Numerical examples of two-dimensional problems are performed and their applications are discussed.
