Ausgehend von einem Definitionsgebiet \(D\) einer analytischen Funktion \(f(z)\) wird ein in gewissem Sinn maximales Gebiet \(D_1\) konstruiert, in dem \(f(z)\) bei analytischer Fortsetzung eindeutig ist. Am Rand von \(D_1\) haben nur solche Randpunkte von \(D\) teil, in denen \(f(z)\) singulär oder mehrdeutig ist bei Fortsetzung aus \(D\).
