The authors prove the universality of some probability distributions known as Scrooge measures or Gaussian adjusted projected (GAP) measures. The main conclusion is that the conditional wave function of a system entangled with its environment is (GAP)-distributed for pure states of the system and of the environment which correspond to thermal equilibrium.
