The diffraction pattern of a periodic crystal consists of bright spots referred to as Bragg peaks. A diffraction is mainly discrete if the set of Bragg peaks is relatively dense, in which case one refers to Meyer sets. It is shown that the set of Bragg peaks with high intensity is always of Meyer type. This result is based on the properties of positive definite measures. This proves the universality of Meyer sets.
