Es wird eine Formel von \textit{Foster} (Bell System Tech. J. 10 (1931), 408-419; Bulletin A. M. S. 36 (1930), 367-368) für die Induktivität geerdeter endlicher dünner Drähte gegen Erde verallgemeinert. Sie war dort unter der Voraussetzung gleichmäßiger Erdleitfähigkeit abgeleitet und wird hier auf den Fall exponentiell veränderlicher Erdleitfähigkeit ausgedehnt. Anschließend werden einige, z. T. bekannte Spezialfälle behandelt.
