    Das von \textit{Lewis} und \textit{Langford} aufgestellte Axiomsystem der \textit{Boole}schen Algebra enthält fünf Grundbegriffe (darunter die Null) und acht Axiome. Verf. gelingt eine Reduktion auf vier Grundbegriffe (Fortlassung der Null) und fünf Axiome. Die Null kann dann allerdings nicht explicite, sondern nur durch Kennzeichnungsdefinition eingeführt werden.
