    Sind die Funktionen einer reellen Veränderlichen \(f_n(x) (n= 1, 2, \dots )\) stetig, so stellt \(\lim _{n \to \infty } f_n f_{n-1} \dots f_2 f_1 (x)\) eine Funktion erster Klasse dar; aber -- wie Verf. sehr einfach beweist -- nicht jede Funktion erster Klasse kann so dargestellt kann so dargestellt werden; z. B. nicht die Funktion, die für \(x<0, = 0\) bzw. \(>0\) die Werte 0, 2 bzw. 1 annimmt.
