A simple and effective multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) aid tool, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) has been studied by many authors. \textit{S. S. Hosseinian} et al. [``A new linear programming method for weights generation and group decision making in the analytic hierarchy process'', Group Decis. Negot. 21, No. 3, 233--254 (2009; \url{doi:10.1007/s10726-009-9182-x})] used an linear programming (LP) model for local weights derivation from a pairwise reciprocal matrix in the AHP. They proposed a new method and called it the `LP-GW-AHP', a linear programming method to generate weights in the AHP. that is compared with a method which has been recently proposed for the weights generation in the AHP and it becomes obvious that the `LP-GW-AHP' provides better weights. An example is given, and the decision-making-problem is solved with the `LP-GW-AHP' method and the weights were compared with Saaty's eigenvector. It can be noticed they differs slightly.
