This paper determines the image of the homomorphism \(H_*(BU(2n,...,\infty))\to H_*(BU)\) for \(*<4n\), where BU(2n,...,\(\infty)\) is the (2n-1)-fold connective fibring over BU. The major step is to find generators for \(H_*(BU(2n,...,\infty))/Torsion\).
