Periodic irreducible representations of \(U(SU(3))_ q\) for q an m-th root of unity are classified and it is proved that their dimensions are \(k(2m)^ 2\) with \(k=1,...,m^*\), where \(m^*=m\) if m is odd and \(m^*=m/2\) if m is even.
