The paper analyzes the statistical-kinetic evolution of a system composed of a finite number of subsystems each of which is a finite combination of mass points subject to ideal constraints. The balance of energy is chosen as the basic law and invariance arguments are used under a change of observer to obtain other relevant balance laws for mass density, linear momentum, microinertia and rotational momentum. The balance of energy and frame indifference are used in a novel way to deduce the balance of energy with respect to any observer and transformation rules of gross fields under a change of observer. In the construction of gross quantities averaging is done such that the gross quantity in question is the expected measure of molecules whose centre of mass is at a specified location.
