Summary: We present progress in the modelling and simulation of flow processes in gas/particle systems carried out by the authors' research group. Emphasis is given to computational fluid dynamics models that use multi-dimensional multi-fluid techniques. Turbulence modelling strategies for gas/particle flows based on the kinetic theory for granular flows are given. We also present submodels for interfacial transfer processes and chemical kinetics modelling. Examples are shown for several gas/particle systems, including flow in risers and reacting systems.
