Summary: We prove the existence of solutions for boundary value problem for a third-order nonlinear degenerate ODE. The ODE has been derived by analysing a class of quasi-self similar solutions to the weakly shear-thinning equation describing the spreading of a droplet of viscous fluid on a plane surface driven by capillary forces.
