The paper investigates the stability of T-periodic solutions of the ordinary differential equation \(\ddot x+c\dot x+g(x)=p(t),\) where \(c>0\), g is a function satisfying conditions of Ambrosetti-Prodi type and p is continuous and T-periodic. The proofs make use of some connection between stability and topological index.
